Full time, permanent role

Our client is a UK FTSE LISTED COMPANY, specialising in organising exhibitions in emerging markets. Historically strong in Russia, the Group also has successful exhibitions in Eastern Europe and Asia and has acquired events in Turkey, China, Malaysia and Indonesia. The acquisition of a new portfolio has brought a number of new events including in new territories such as USA, Europe, Brazil, South Africa and UAE as well as China and Turkey.


To generate an agreed amount of revenue and square metres by the selling of exhibition/advertising space for Security events to new and existing clients via the telephone and face-to-face meeting.

To maximise revenues and develop new business.



  • Define and develop existing and new sales to meet agreed revenue and profit targets, whilst maximising profits.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed show and personal targets by direct selling to existing and new clients by carrying out sales and marketing activities as agreed with the Head of Sales.
  • Ensure full understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements.
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and develop them into long-term business relationships.
  • Maintain and build accurate database (CRM) to generate sales.
  • Work together with the international offices and to keep track of the progress of sales against agreed targets.
  • Monitor and administer competitor events to target potential clients.

Client Relationship

 Build and maintain strategic relationships with existing and new clients.

  • Ensure on-site customer care and re-bookings.
  • To handle client queries quickly and efficiently maintaining high standards of client correspondence.
  • To contribute fully to the on-site preparation and on-site management by working effectively with the Event Team.


  • Work closely with and support the sales team in all matters concerning the Company’s business.
  • Provide whatever support is necessary to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  • Carry out various ad hoc duties as necessary.
Essential Desirable
Experience & knowledge:

Substantial experience in sales.

Experience in exhibition, publishing or online product sales is essential.



Security industry knowledge is desirable.

Skills & personal qualities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Russian.

Determination to succeed through hard work.

Persuasive and professional on the phone and face to face meetings.

Ability to communicate effectively with people across many different levels of seniority.

Excellent negotiation skills.

Commitment to offering good customer service.

Proactive in sales approach.

Strong team player.


Highly organised.

A high level of self motivation and the ability to meet demanding targets within tight deadlines.

Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
