Division:          Digital
Reports to:      Digital Content Editor
Location:          London
Job status:       Full time, permanent

Our client is one of the world’s leading organisers of international trade exhibitions and conferences, specialising in organising events in growing and developing markets. We organise over 240 exhibitions and conferences each year worldwide with many market leading events and well-known brands in key industry sectors. Our product range includes everything from niche specialist conferences through to globally significant trade fairs with mass appeal and influence.

Historically strong in Russia, the Group also has successful exhibitions in Eastern Europe and Asia and has recently acquired events in Turkey, China, Malaysia and Indonesia. A recent acquisition has brought a number of new events into our client including in new territories such as USA, Europe, Brazil, South Africa and UAE as well as China and Turkey.

Having launched content marketing platforms for two industries (building and interiors and oil and gas) a year ago, we are now looking to expand our content production across some of our other industries.

JOB PURPOSE:

Working with the content team (Digital Content Editor and Digital Campaigns Manager), the Content Assistant will produce and plan online content to support content marketing in some of the industries that our client’s trade exhibitions cover. This content would be market-focused – promoting the countries we operate in as good places to do business, and offering useful information for businesses thinking of exporting or operating there. All content will have the specific aim of generating enquiries, leads and sales for our shows.

This content will mainly be written articles, but also includes video, infographic and other multimedia content where appropriate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Content production and planning:

Write content to promote the markets our events take place in – this can be market guides, case studies, interviews, blog posts, news updates, market analysis, or multimedia content such as video, infographics or audio.

  • Source content from elsewhere to use in our content marketing – aggregating, curating, editing or translating materials to post on our owned media channels
  • Work with the Digital Content Editor to develop 12-month editorial calendars for each content portfolio, planning articles in advance and scheduling content in line with the sales cycles of our events.
  • Profile our audience – learning what content and information they need, and planning how we can produce it online to attract these people to our events.

Tracking:

Track site traffic, user behaviour and conversion rates

  • Track leads generated by our content activity, producing weekly reports via lead tracking software and passing this onto sales teams for following up
