Transport&Logistics is a major division within the our client’s Group – one of the world’s leading organisers of trade exhibitions and conferences. The division is looking to recruit an experienced professional to take responsibility for marketing the portfolio to a global audience, as well as overseeing the direction of event marketing and managing the development of a new international buyers’ club.

JOB PURPOSE

The Head of Portfolio Marketing is predominantly a strategic role to ensure that the division utilises the best possible marketing initiatives to deliver continuous improvements to the quality and effectiveness of its products.

The role also encompasses the creation and management of a VIP programme to attract the world’s most influential buyers of transport and logistics products and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Planning:

Develop a marketing strategy, complete with tactical approach and plan to complement the strategic development of the portfolio. This should cover areas such as:

  • Data and Lead Generation
  • Industry and Customer Research
  • Design and Brand Presentation
  • Messaging and Tone-of-Voice
  • Marketing Channels
  • Advertising
  • Social Media
  • Content Marketing & PR

The role also includes the responsibility for reviewing event-level marketing strategies, tactics and plans.

 Co-ordination, Communication and Collaboration:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior marketing staff across the Group to ensure that their activities are effective and meet the standards set for the portfolio. Report progress to Senior Managers, highlighting areas of strengths and weaknesses.

Websites:

Manage the English language content of the portfolio website. Ensuring that it is accurate and up to date at all times. Analyse and report user activity.

Content Marketing:

Work with content editors to ensure that original and procured content is on-message and in line with the strategic development of the portfolio.

Brand Management:

Manage brand presentation and communications. Ensure that local teams have the understanding, skills and material assets to deliver marketing, PR, digital and design work to meet required standards. Monitor progress and intervene when quality does not meet expectations.

Staff Management:

A digital marketing executive will have a dotted-line report into this position. Ensure that their work reaches the highest possible standards. Set appropriate objectives/targets monitor progress and assist their professional development.

VIP Program Management:

Work with new and existing data assets, customer research and desk research to identify and connect with a group of key buyers in the transport and logistics sector. Support and supervise VIP contract/freelance recruiters, provide them with useful, up-to-date resources and keep them on target to achieve their goals. Monitor the VIP database, personally recruit members and coordinate the VIP programme activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Experience & Knowledge – Essential
